Shymbulak ski resort
Shymbulak is the most popular ski resort in Kazakhstan, which is located almost on the border of the city of Almaty, Trans-Ili Alatau (Northern Tien Shan), slightly higher than the world-famous high-mountain skating rink “Medeu”.
The Shymbulak sports base has been operating since 1954. The length of the ski run is 3500 meters, the Giant Slalom is 1,500 m, the average width of the track is 25 m, the descent slope is 11–29 °. Such parameters allow athletes to develop maximum speed during the entire descent. Highest point above sea level 3163m
Medeu skating rink
Medeu is a high-mountain sports complex located in the Medeu tract at an altitude of 1691 m above sea level, it is also located near the “Southern Capital” of Kazakhstan.
Medeu is one of the largest mountain complexes for mountain sports with the largest artificial ice surface in the world - 10.5 thousand m². Climatic conditions and ice quality allow us to achieve the best results; During the entire period of the skating rink's existence, more than 200 world records were installed on this ice surface. This high-altitude skating rink was also called the “record factory.”
“Huns” ethnic village
Huns ethnic village – “Huns” is an ethnic recreation center located in the Talgar district, 40 km from the city of Almaty. The base is considered the first ethnographic village in Kazakhstan - here you can completely immerse yourself in the history of the Kazakh people, try saumal, live for several days in a colorful yurt and ride horses.
Charyn Canyon
Charyn Canyon is a 154 km long canyon. The canyon is located 195 km east of Almaty, near the border with China. The canyon is part of the territory of the Charyn National Park.
Charyn Canyon is a natural monument built from sedimentary rocks, the age of these rocks is about 12 million years. The height of the mountain of the steep canyon reaches 150-300 m.
The most interesting place for tourists is the so-called Valley of Castles, about 2 km long and 20–80 m wide.
In the depths of the canyon there is a grove of relict ash that survived the glaciation era - Sogdian ash. There is another similar grove only in North America. Since 1964, the grove has been declared a natural monument.
Kolsay lake
Kolsay Lake –is one of the most beautiful places in Kazakhstan. These lakes are located at heights 2250 and 2700 meters above sea level. They are distinguished by the unique mountain watershed consisting of three natural zones and amazing variety of rare plants and animals.
