Kazakhstan has a different rules for visa obtaining for passport holders of different countries: visa-free, single entry, multiple entry, visa only with a letter of invitation. Visa-free means you do not need to get a visa in advance. At the passport control, your passport will be stamped with a border crossing stamp. All visa-free regimes are valid at land borders, sea ports and airports.
E-visa
The visa is single entry and according to the current rules valid for 30 days. Holders of an e-visa must arrive via Astana or Almaty airport.
The e-visa is valid only for the visa recipient not for the family members. To obtain an e-visa you must register at the visa-migration portal of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The following types of visas are available for E-Visa:
- single-entry business visa;
- single-entry tourist visa;
- single-entry treatment visa;
- single-entry investor visa.
E-visa can be issued only if there is a valid invitation from the Kazakh side. To apply for an e-visa, you need an invitation number received from the inviting Kazakh side. The issued electronic visa must be printed out for presentation at the state border crossing and on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Electronic visa gives the right to enter / exit the Republic of Kazakhstan only through the international airports of Astana and Almaty.

Upon you arrival to Kazakhstan you need to be registered by your host either at application or website or at visa-migration portal of the Republic of Kazakhstan within 3 days.
