 Overview:

The Nomad Path is a unique opportunity to explore Kyrgyzstan in a completely new format.

This immersive cultural experience offers direct participation in ancient nomadic rituals — from birth ceremonies to rites of maturity and marriage. The journey culminates in an authentic nomadic lifestyle experience at Son-Kul, one of the most sacred and scenic alpine lakes in Kyrgyzstan.

Expect interactive engagement with history through hands-on rituals, traditional cuisine, crafts, and games — not just observation. With traditional costumes, music, legends, and community, this is a deeply emotional and cultural immersion.

Itinerary:

Day 1 – Saturday: Bishkek – Karkyra Valley (440 km / ~7 hrs)

Morning departure from Bishkek to Karkyra Valley. Arrival at the yurt camp and check-in.
Participate in the “Tushuu Toy” ceremony – the symbolic cutting of a child's leg bindings to mark a new life stage.

Day 2 – Sunday: Karkyra Valley

Participate in youth and maturity rituals, play traditional nomadic games like Toguz Korgool and Alchiki.

Day 3 – Monday: Karkyra – South Issyk-Kul Lake (260 km / ~6 hrs)

Transfer to Issyk-Kul. Learn about tush kyiz embroidery and family life symbols through rituals like “Nikke Toy,” “Kelin Aluu,” and “Chach Ooru.”
Interactive wedding celebration in the evening.

Day 4 – Tuesday: Issyk-Kul – Tash Rabat (300 km / ~6 hrs)

Experience a falconry demonstration and a yurt-building masterclass in Kyzyl-Tuu. Visit a felt-making cooperative in Kochkor.
Transfer to Tash Rabat, an ancient caravanserai.
Accommodation: Yurt camp
 Breakfast, lunch with local family, and dinner included


Day 5 – Wednesday: Tash Rabat – Son-Kul Lake (250 km / ~5–6 hrs)

Scenic transfer to Son-Kul Lake. Participate in cooking traditional boorsok, and share stories of aging and tradition at a festive “Ash” dinner.

Day 6 – Thursday: Son-Kul – Bishkek (370 km / ~8–9 hrs)

Return to Bishkek via Burana Tower, an ancient minaret and archaeological site of the Silk Road.
