“World Nomads’ Games” is the international competition in ethnic sports, this competition is based on national games of the nomadic peoples of Central Asia. The idea of the “World Nomads’ Games” is to develop the ethnic sports as the heritage of human civilization.
The world nomad games are included in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage.
The organization of the fifth world nomad games in Kazakhstan, was initiated by the president of the republic of Kazakhstan during the national kurultai on June 17, 2023 in the city of Turkestan.
For three times, the “World Nomads Games” were held in Kyrgyzstan:
in 2014 – 583 athletes from 19 countries, 10 sports.
in 2016 – 1,200 athletes from 62 countries, 26 sports.
in 2018 – 2,000 athletes from 82 countries, 37 sports.
The 4th World Nomad Games took place in 2022 in Turkey.
Date and place Venue: Republic of Kazakhstan, Astana city The games will be held from September 8 to 14, 2024.
